Mahendra Singh Dhoni, also known as MS Dhoni, is a former Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian national cricket team. He was born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.

Dhoni began playing cricket at a young age and soon established himself as a prominent player in the Indian cricket scene. He made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 2004 and quickly became known for his calm demeanor, sharp wicketkeeping skills, and aggressive batting style.

Dhoni's greatest achievement as a cricketer came in 2007 when he led the Indian team to victory in the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup. He then went on to lead the Indian team to victory in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, where he played a crucial role in the final by scoring an unbeaten 91.

Dhoni is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricket captains of all time. Under his leadership, the Indian cricket team won numerous accolades, including the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2010 and 2016 Asia Cups, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.

Off the field, Dhoni is known for his passion for motorcycles and has been involved in several charitable initiatives, including the establishment of the Mahendra Singh Dhoni Charitable Trust, which aims to help underprivileged children in India.

Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020, ending a career that spanned over 15 years. He remains a revered figure in Indian cricket and his contributions to the sport have made him a role model for many aspiring cricketers and fans around the world.
